Privacy Policy

AlphaBrief AI (“AlphaBrief”, “we”, “us”) is operated under the CaptionPair project. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension, web dashboard, and related API services at brief.captionpair.xyz and alphabrief.captionpair.xyz.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: email address, password hash (or Google OAuth identifier), timezone, subscription tier.
• Extension usage: page text or selected text you submit for AI summarization; authentication token stored locally in Chrome.
• Brief configuration: monitored site URLs, task schedules, webhook settings (Pro), and brief language preference.
• Brief content: headlines fetched from public sources, AI-generated summaries, email delivery logs, and webhook delivery metadata.
• Payment: subscription status and Creem customer/subscription identifiers (payment card data is processed by Creem, not stored by us).

2. How we use information

• Provide AI summarization and scheduled morning briefs.
• Authenticate you and enforce plan limits (Free vs Pro).
• Send email briefs and optional webhook notifications (Pro).
• Process subscriptions through Creem (Merchant of Record).
• Improve reliability, security, and support.

3. AI processing

Page content you submit is sent to our API and forwarded to an AI provider (e.g. OpenAI-compatible endpoints such as DeepSeek) to generate summaries. Do not submit passwords, private keys, or other sensitive personal data through the extension.

4. Data location

Primary processing and storage: Hong Kong SAR. If you access AlphaBrief from the United States, European Union, or other regions, your data may be transferred to and stored in Hong Kong for service delivery.

5. Third-party services

• Creem — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for morning briefs.
• Google — optional Sign in with Google OAuth.
• AI provider — text summarization and brief aggregation.
• Webhook providers (Pro, optional) — Telegram, Slack, etc., when you configure them.

6. Retention

Account and brief history are retained while your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting admin@captionpair.xyz.

7. Your choices

• Decline consent in the extension to disable page-text summarization.
• Remove monitored sites and disable tasks in the Dashboard.
• Cancel Pro subscription through Creem or downgrade in Dashboard.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and signed webhook verification where applicable. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Children

AlphaBrief is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
